Electric vehicles (EVs) are gaining popularity due to their eco-friendly and cost-efficient nature. EV owners are always on the lookout for the best charging options, and that's where charging station apps come in handy. These apps help EV drivers to find charging stations near their location, check the availability of charging points, and plan their trips accordingly.

Oodles Energy conducted a poll to find out about the habits of EV drivers asking:

As an EV driver, do you check EV charging apps before booking a hotel?

81% said yes.

Here are some of the more interesting comments from the poll:

Robert Fernatt (you have this picture already)

Yes. If I can filter on whether they offer a business center or pool or gym, then I should be able to filter for hotels that offer EV charging with details on what kind of charging, any fees, etc.

Richard Hart

100% of the time. I usually use the PlugShare app or hotel app to look up stations.

Lisa Rookaird

I book at lodging that offers EV charging as an amenity! It’s a must to support the transition!

Clive Southwell

I always filter hotels with EV charging on the booking.com app.

Jason Cortes

I check the hotel apps for what they state about their EV offering, but some completely misrepresent what they actually have. I base my hotel decision around what PlugShare or Chargeway, etc say about the site.

David Link

On our 8,840 mile across the US, we always checked for destination chargers at hotels. Unfortunately, 3 times we discovered that there actually were NOT destination chargers at hotels, even though they advertised that they had them. In one case, we were directed to 120V outlets at light poles in their parking lot.
